Camera demonstration
A controlled, real-world demo created to help sales teams reliably showcase a complex feature.
Role
Director, animator, editor
The Challenge
Sales teams had a hard time demonstrating the product’s voice-activated pan, tilt, and zoom in real situations. The feature worked best in certain environments, which made live demos inconsistent.
We needed a reliable way to show how it actually performs in a real meeting setting.
The Approach
Instead of explaining the feature, I focused on recreating the ideal environment and capturing it working correctly on camera.
We staged a meeting scenario in an office setting, with both in-room participants and remote users, so the feature could be seen in context.
Key Decisions
- Filmed in a real office during the brightest part of the day to maximize natural light in a tight space
- Used a minimal lighting setup, with a single fill light to balance the scene without overcomplicating the shoot
- Shot the same scenario multiple times from different angles using one camera to create variety in the edit
- Directed on-camera participants to simulate a natural meeting flow so the feature could trigger as intended
What I Focused On
- Creating a controlled environment where the feature would perform consistently
- Capturing the product in a way that felt realistic and relatable
- Giving the sales team a reliable visual tool they could use in any situation
Result
A clear, real-world demonstration of a complex feature that sales teams could confidently use to show customers how the product works—without relying on live demos.
